What Is Body Polish?

www.findtheSpa.com

A Body polish is a treatment of the entire body, just like a facial and unlike a massage. It hydrates and exfoliates the skin. When the dead skin is removed, the skin becomes soft and smooth. It can be done with any type of material such as sugar, salt, rice bran, coffee grounds or pecan hulls, which are usually mixed with massage oil as well as essential oils.

Body Polish  is unlike a massage, which is solely done for the purpose of relaxation or pleasure. This technique is performed to obtain many benefits. One of the most common benefits is that this treatment exfoliates the dead skin cells. Removing dead skin cells is important because dead skin layers tend to make a person’s face and body appear unhealthy, dull and unattractive. Not just that, it will be more moisturized and hydrated than before the treatment.

A polished skin not only tends to look attractive, but it also tends to feel fresh. The skin will be softer, smoother and supple after the procedure. It can also diminish the effects of topical beauty and health products. This procedure will remove oil and dirt build up that blocks the skin pores. It also stimulates the skin cells to generate fresh, healthier layers of skin.

Benefits Of Parrafin Pedicure

www.findtheSpa.com

A paraffin pedicure is a spa treatment during which paraffin wax is applied to the feet in order to moisturize the skin on the feet. The paraffin is usually applied after the feet have been washed and buffed and after the toenails have been cleaned, cut, and filed into uniform shapes. If the pedicure includes the application of nail polish, this is done after the paraffin has been applied, left to cool, and then removed.  Before the paraffin wax is applied to the feet, it is warmed in a small tub.

As such, the wax is in a liquid state when it is applied to the feet. Each spa has a variation on the technique used during a paraffin pedicure. It is most common, however, to have the feet dipped into the tub of wax two to three times, then wrapped in a plastic bag or sheet of plastic. Some spas, however, dip a ladle full of wax into a plastic bag, then fit the foot into the bag and form the wax around the foot.

After the wax has been applied to the feet, it is left to cool for up to five minutes. It is common, during a paraffin pedicure, to have the wax-dipped feet wrapped in warm towels or cotton booties which fit over the plastic. This keeps the paraffin warmer for a longer period of time, improving the moisturizing benefits for the feet. It is common for the paraffin wax to be infused with essential oils or fragrances which makes the treatment even more enjoyable.

Eyebrow Threading

www.findtheSpa.com

Eyebrow threading is a beauty method used to remove stray hairs and to arch or shape the eyebrows. The process begins with a thin piece of thread that is woven underneath the eyebrow hairs and tied into a knot to firmly position the hairs in place. As the thread is lightly tugged, it pulls the hairs underneath the thread knots out by the root.

Eyebrow threading has a variety of potential advantages that may make it a more appealing eyebrow shaping method than using hot wax or tweezers to remove hairs. One advantage of eyebrow threading compared to other eyebrow shaping methods is the amount of time it takes to perform. A typical threading session may last less than five minutes, making it a significantly quicker process than using tweezers to remove individual hairs.

The amount of pain any hair removal method imparts may vary among individuals, but people who prefer eyebrow threading believe it is one of the least painful methods. During the threading process, the thread only touches the hairs and does not touch the skin beneath the hair. Another potential advantage of eyebrow threading is the precision of the hair removal and shaping.

Different Types Of Hair Toners

www.findtheSpa.com

There are three basic types of hair toner including semi-permanent, demi-permanent, and permanent. In most instances, permanent toner is used, since this type of toner can cover previously colored hair. Semi-permanent and demi-permanent toner is only used to enhance existing hair color. When dying hair a white or light blond color, toner is frequently used in order to protect hair from color damage.

Lightening hair that is particularly dark is not easy to do. In order to lighten dark brown or black hair, stylists frequently use a two-step process that involves adding toner. The first part of this process is to bleach sections of the hair in order to lighten the hair. Then, a toner is applied over the bleached sections in order to enhance the hair color.

There are various home hair color kits that are labeled as toners, but these products do not add color to hair. Instead, most home toners simply magnify existing hair color. Natural blonds can add home hair toner to hair in order to bring out lighter blond highlights. Similarly, brunettes can use a home toner to draw out auburn shades. Due to the fact that many different hair colors are marketed as toners, it is important to understand what each product does prior to using a home hair toner.

What Is Mini Facial?

www.findtheSpa.com

In a mini facial, a mask typically is applied next. Sometimes cold cucumber slices or cold, wet cotton balls are placed on the closed eyelids to reduce eye puffiness. The mask can be clay-based, fruit-based or vegetable-based, and it also might act to exfoliate the skin. It is left on the skin for several minutes or until the clay-based mud mask dries. Masks are removed with warm water.

Most mini facials include a toner, which is usually in lotion or wash form and works to cleanse the skin and close the pores. It can also help to balance the pH of the skin and protect the face from bacteria after a mini facial. Many people think their skin feels tighter and firmer after a toner is applied.

Some mini facials might also include a pressure point massage on the face, neck and shoulders. They usually will be done in a serene environment with low lighting and relaxing music as well. Before the mini facial, the recipient should discuss any health conditions with the esthetician to avoid the use of products that could pose a risk.

Different Types Of Face Masks

www.findtheSpa.com

Face masks typically come in the form of mud, clay, cream, or gel. Usually used to hydrate, soothe, and treat the face, face masks can help keep skin looking fresh. Ingredients in face masks can include egg white, oatmeal, yogurt, fruit, avocado, sugar, honey, tea, and even cat litter. Different masks are made for oily, dry, and sensitive skin. Treating irritated or sunburned skin, exfoliating skin, and fighting the effects of aging are other common uses for face masks.

Oily or acne-prone skin can benefit from a face mask made with mud or clay. The mud draws out oils from deep within the skin. As the mask dries, the oils are trapped within the mud and washed off when the mask is washed away. Gel face masks can also be good for acne-prone skin as they can lift away dead skin or other debris that can clog pores. It should be noted that gel masks do not usually remove oil.

Sensitive skin face masks can be made with ginseng or green tea. Face masks made with these products can also be good for irritated or sunburned skin. Tea contains antioxidants that can combat the effects of the sun. In addition, cucumber can also work well to combat damaged skin.
